DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS THIS SUNDAY; don’t forget to turn your clocks back an hour! Ever wonder why we “fall back” an hour this time every year (it started as a way to save energy during World War I)? What would happen if daylight savings time was year-round? Is DST dangerous? All that and more details are in this interesting Vox.com article.
As a kid, I thought it was really cool to wake up and go to school in the dark and I feel like I’m getting a jump on the day if I get to the office and it’s still relatively dark. I remember when my son was young he thought that darkness in the morning was cool, too, at least when we would be going to the airport for our annual Thanksgiving trip back to the east coast. Conversely, I was ecstatic and still love when we spring ahead and the long hours of daylight in the Spring and summer.
Either way, I still love a great sunset…and sunrise.
