What Do You Do With the Used Seat Leather from Amtrak Trains?

Amtrak has entered into a partnership with People for Urban Progress, or PUP, an Indianapolis-based non-profit specializing in civic sustainability, to re-purpose leather seat covers from 20 refreshed Acela Express train sets into luxury bags.” The bags will retail anywhere from $75-$250.

I love this idea, and good to hear they are also dry-cleaning the seat leather before they are re-used. The thought of thousands of heads and bottoms resting on these seats over the course of teh years…
