70 69 years old today.
Stateside, if you know of him at all its because he founded E.L.O. with Jeff Lynne; prior to that he had 15 singles in the UK top 10 between 1967 and 1974. His band The Move was hugely influential-especially on my favorite band, Cheap Trick, who copped numerous riffs on their first three albums as well as covering The Move’s last hit, “California Man” on their third album, Heaven Tonight.
