Favorite Movie Scene(s): Midnight Run

Actually, make that favorite movie scenes from one of my favorite movies, Midnight Run. Because there’s so many fun and terrific scenes in this 1988 buddy comedy starring Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin.

Midnight Run put the great character actor Joe Pantoliano on my radar. Don’t know the name? You know who he is as he’s played a slew of memorable characters in movies and TV and in Midnight Run he played the bail bondsman Eddie Moscone. I thought of Midnight Run as Pantoliano is the guest on the latest episode of Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast. Give it a listen – Pantoliano tells some great stories about his many roles as well as his upbringing in New Jersey.

On to the clips…love these…

And R.I.P. Dennis Farina, who played Jimmy Serrano. Here again, this is the first time I saw Farina and I immediately became a fan. Check out 1:24 with the moron bounty hunters. Never fails to crack me up.

Here’s a great compilation of great scenes…

DID YOU KNOW? The studio originally wanted Cher for the accountant role, played by Charles Grodin!

DID YOU KNOW? Director Martin Brest also directed Beverly Hills Cop and Scent of A Woman?
