Radical Acceptance

4 Oct

“Radical Acceptance means completely and totally accepting something from the depths of your soul, with your heart and your mind. You stop fighting reality. When you stop fighting  you suffer less.”

Easier said than done, at least at first. Tantalizing, yet attainable in time, and very fulfilling when achieved.

It’s not about agreeing with the outcome, either. Radical acceptance is when you recognize and accept the reality of the situation and don’t resist what you can’t change.

It’s difficult to accept what you don’t want to be true. And it ends up being more difficult to not accept the reality; that just ultimately brings more pain.
