Cover Classic: “Fooled Around And Fell In Love” – Winery Dogs

30 Aug

SIMPLY GREAT:

“FOOLED AROUND AND FELL IN LOVE” Not surprisingly, Richie Kotzen is incredible on this. He’s one of the best guitarists around today and he can sing – there’s some real soulfulness here  – and he makes the Elvin Bishop classic his own. Billy Sheehan lays down the four-string groove- a bit too flashy at times, one can argue (though I dig it) and Mike Portnoy’s drumming holds it altogether. Kotzen tastefully blazes on the solos – gives me chills!  I love watching this video – it’s three amazing musicians who love to play.

And if you haven’t dug into the Winery Dogs, DO IT – be sure to check out their two amazing albums.
