Two Jams

7 Apr

It’s been an amazing two weeks to be a Cheap Trick fan. R&R HoF induction, a new, fantastic album, lots of press, appearing on the TODAY show (today!), a great interview on Howard Stern. Got me thinking of two essential, killer songs….

Both originally appeaed on the Dream Police album, both are amazing, kick-ass jams.

“NEED YOUR LOVE” – whereby at 4:56 I lose my shit (just like at Treasure Island Casino last June). A slow, simmering fuse and then liftoff.

“GONNA RAISE HELL” – that four-on-the-floor beat kicks it off, then one of the most bad-ass bass riffs ever comes in and announces that serious rocking is about to happen.  Bonus points for the sick jam at 8:25.

Good god I love this band.
